There’s no such thing as a “get-rich-quick” scheme – especially in business. Even the companies that look like overnight successes have put in hours and hours of hard work and perseverance to get to that point. We may see them first when they hit it big, but that’s only the tip of the iceberg. All the blood, sweat, tears, and time that have been poured into that organization are sitting below the surface, invisible to the public eye.

The same is true for your own company – no matter how big or small. Overnight success just doesn’t happen. And while that might seem discouraging, it’s actually not a bad thing. Because the companies who are merely out to make a quick buck, aren’t usually good companies to begin with. They’re focused only on their own needs – not the needs of their clients. And no one likes to do business with people who only care about themselves.

So if you’re ever tempted to take some shortcuts or prioritize short-term profits over providing long-term value to your customers – don’t take the bait. It never works.

Great marketing takes time.

A tweet per day… for a whole year.
A blog post per week… for 2 years.
A newsletter per month… for 3 years.

You get the idea.

You may not see results next week. But if you keep at it – if you don’t give up, if you keep pressing in, persevering, and refusing to quit – eventually the tide will shift. Your efforts will pay off.

As they say: “To cut down the largest tree in the forest, it takes many small chops.”
